It's wonderful to actually be treated with compassion and respect. You never feel like just another number at Dr. Venkataram's office which is very difficult to find these days. Randy Baldwin Dr. Venkataram is a modern doctor with old-time ethics. You never wait long in the waiting room, he listens with undivided attention, and he is never reluctant to refer you to someone else if he's stumped. I appreciate his honesty and concern. Al Walker I signed up with Dr. K. Venkataram in 2003 and he has been a great doctor for my wife and I.
My family has heart attacks, strokes, and cancer in our history, and I wanted to take an active, preventive approach to my health, not just treating things when they popped up. My friend told me she loved her doctor, and would be happy to refer me. My husband's appointment time came first, so I set up the appointment for him with Dr. Venkataram, instead of our former doctor. He couldn't believe the difference. It was night and day. Dr. V was on time, not rushed, and indicated that on this first visit, he just wanted to talk, and get a full history of my husband's health. Next, he did blood work, and found a previously undiagnosed condition of diabetes. He talked to my husband about the dangers of this condition, and how best to manage it. My husband is now taking medication to control his blood sugar, and working on losing weight to enhance his overall health. I went next, and found the same results. Dr. V. was very thorough, and his staff was very friendly and professional. Both my husband and I highly recommend Dr. Venkataram and his staff to anyone searching for a new physician. His comprehensive and professional approach gives us comfort that we are doing all we can to manage our health proactively. I have been a patient of Dr. 'Ram's for almost 4 years now.In spite of the fact that I didn't pick him myself (the insurance company did), I could not have placed the dart on a better bull's eye! Although my own health had constant problems, I had to put myself on hold when my wife suffered a stroke. I was apprehensive about changing doctors even though I wasn't content with the services I was receiving. Dr. Ram immediately put me at ease and encouraged me physically and emotionally. I can honestly say that he has been the most truly concerned Dr. in regards to my over all health that I have ever seen. Doctor Venkataram has been our "family" physician for more than ten years. Ken went on Humana when he turned 65 (he's now 76), and Dr. Ram was assigned as his primary care physician. WHAT A STROKE OF LUCK! We were so impressed with Dr. Ram that we had our mom transferred to his care. When Doris turned 65, she became his patient as well. Sarah (Doris' sister) had a lot of very serious health problems and we really wanted her under his care. However, he was affiliated with JSA Medical Center and that office did not accept her insurance. As soon as he moved from JSA to private practice (and added her insurance carrier), she transferred her records to him. 
Dr. Venkataram, wife and his staff are great. Dr. Ram, as he is referred to, has been my doctor since 2002.
About a year ago, I was talking to a friend about my doctor. I was disappointed in how passive he seemed to be about my health. He would only ask if anything was wrong, and if it wasn't, he'd say, "O.K., see you next time."
